Zinc Phosphating is a treatment to the surface of steel components that provides the following attributes:

• Increased corrosion resistance
• Absorptive or porous surface compared to the metal to receive oiling or painting or chromating for further enhanced corrosion resistance
• Lower coefficient of friction to aid cold forming or deep drawing
• Helps running in of machine elements or reduce scuffing
• Electrically non conductive surface coating of insoluble phosphate
• Highly adherent to the metal
